Note from the Author:

Beyond providing basic information on the terror groups, I have tried to emphasize the vast web of links between terrorist organizations with very different goals and ideologies. This book is not an analysis and makes no explicit argument - but I hope that it can help the general public to understand that Sunni/Shi'a and secular/religious divides are no barriers to terrorist cooperation. I also show, where I can find information, links between terrorist groups in the Middle East and elsewhere and I try to highlight terrorist infrastructure in Europe, the U.S., and worldwide.

Profiles in Terror is an accessible reference guide, detailed enough to be of use to the specialist while still of use to the general reader. Profiles in Terror is organized like an encyclopedia, with entries discussing the major terrorist organizations.
